The Challenge

The extension was to be constructed within an existing courtyard and therefore space was extremely restricted. There were also poor ground conditions throughout the site.

The SOLID Approach

SFS framing was used alongside timber cladding to keep the weight of the construction down. SFS, or Steel Framing System, is a highly efficient construction solution made from cold-rolled steel. As an extremely versatile form of construction, it offers flexibility in its design and reduces demands on the foundations.
